Annelinn, Väike Anne channel area
Planning area/Pilot site
100 ha/21ha
Current land use
Residental area: part of the largest residental areas built mainly in the 1970 years. Väike Anne Channel is now in use as a hobby-fishing and Jet-training area. Due to the insufficient connection with river Emajõgi and the fact that through the channel flows the large amount of stormwater that comes from Annelinn catchment area the use of the channel is very limited.
Future land use
The Annelinn residental area should function in future in the purpose planned by masterplan. The Väike Anne Channel is planned to be a riverboat harbour, thus the surroundings should serve as the leisure-time area. To use the channel also as a swimming area, the alternative stormwater solutions are analysed.
Site specific stormwater challenge
The possibilities of using the ditches for the stormwater purification before reaching Emajõgi is under research. Further, analysis of the potential needs as well as benefits of using an Integrated stormwater management system in existing residental area is ongoing.
Finding out, if the stormwater of this catchment area could be managed not using Väike Anne Channel.
